Hey Owen. I don’t, I play over the Original song 😉 But you can try tu use some EQ to minimize the sound of the drums
How much did the drum set cost you?
Hi Gavin, well it’s difficult to say, I initially bought a TD9 1500 €, and then I progressively upgraded the drums…. And then Roland provided me with the TD 25 !
I don’t understand any of this, but I’m 13 and would like to learn how to drum. Do you have any advice?
I forgot to mention that I don’t have any equipment and am on a budget.

My advice would be to find some drummers that inspires you, to buy a small drum set, even a cheap on, you can even start drumming on you legs or a pillow or do some air drumming over a song trying to imitate the drummer, it can help a lot 😉
Then find a teacher in your area and start your journey 😉
I’m 15 and I study how to play the drums at school but still, I’m not that good at it. Josh Dun inspires me (and you though, I admire your work) but I don’t have any equimpent yet. Do you think that I should start first with the basics like a snare, bass drum and hi hat or what?
Yeah, many people with low budget starts with just a snare, hi hat and bass drum, and a crash if you want, then you can buy the toms, ride, etc that arent very used on songs

Can you tell me which „China“ and „Splash“ you use with this set and how you install it. (Stand or grabber arm, plugs into TD-27)
And do you know, if it‘s possible to use the „Bell-Plug“ of the CY-16-RT (a think it has 3 triggers: edge, bow, bell, but no cable for it to plug it into the TD-27) 🙁

You don’t disturb at all. If you want to hear my TD 50 preset, the best thing is to go to the TD 50 VS TD 27 drum module comparison, you will hear the sound ‘drums only” of my preset. This is a great all around preset that will fit most of your needs.

Just bought a Roland VAD 503 with the TD 27 drum module.
Iam trying to connect it midi to addictive drums 2.
But ad2 doesnt have the right midi map for the TD27.
My hihat wont react as i want it to do.
Did you experience this too? Any ideas how to fix the problem?
Ive been working on the mapping in AD2. But everytime AD2 learns something on the hihat, something else drops.
I believe the biggest problem is the use of the footpedal from my hi hat.

Hey Heyme,
Unfortunately I can’t really help you as I don’t have AD2. But I have had the same issue with all my 3rd part drum software, most of the time they avec designed a special mapping for your drums. Check out on their website maybe or on some AD2 forums.
How do you recommend setting up the TD27 for live performance plus a monitor mix? Can you use the headphone out to feed a powered wedge and divide up the other outputs?
